3rd Annual Community Art Festival

As part of Wi$e Money Week 2019, Don’t Miss A Beat (DMAB) is hosting its annual community art festival to engage, educate, and entertain the DMAB families and residents of the Riverside, Woodstock, and Brooklyn communities. Gwendolyn Owens, Director of Development for DMAB, sums up the purpose of the festival best, “We believe that the arts are a bridge to a better life for underserved communities in Jacksonville. The Don’t Miss a Beat Community Art Festival is designed to reach into these communities and provide the families with basic, but much needed services.”  

There will be a variety of opportunities for you to learn about resources available in the community to address basic needs, health, finances, and much more. Here is just a sample of the services and programs that will be available:

  • Financial Wellness – helping individuals and families improve financial literacy, purchase a home, manage debt, improve credit, and so much more
  • Health and Wellness – diabetes prevention, cancer prevention and early detection, arthritis education, dental care, general wellness and preventative care, disability awareness and CPR & First Aid
  • Family Support Services – basic services, family support, and family preservation
  • College Preparation – application process, scholarship and financial aid, student loan information,

There will also be free food and entertainment provided by professional, amateur, and student dance and musical groups, music provided by a DJ, and performances by the Don’t Miss A Beat participants.  Come and enjoy the day…we look forward to seeing you there.
